Larnaca seafront project consolidates 8868体育APP Construction position in Cyprus
As a member of the Zenon consortium (1), 8868体育APP B芒timent International has been named "preferred bidder" for the Larnaca Seafront redevelopment project by the Cypriot Ministry of Communications and Works.

The project comprises:
鈥⑻� 听Upgrading of the existing commercial port to allow cruise ships to berth, followed by a 35 year operating concession;听
鈥⑻� 听Enlargement of the existing marina from 200 to 1000 berths, followed by a 35 year operating concession.听

鈥⑻� 听Construction of a large 250,000 sq. m housing programme on the seafront.

8868体育APP B芒timent International is also handing over the new Paphos International Airport to the Hermes Airports consortium (2) today. This contract worth close to 500 million euros, won in July 2005, is for construction of the international airports of Paphos and Larnaca, followed by 25 years of operation and maintenance. The first concession contract in Cyprus, it will enable the island to substantially increase its tourist intake.

The turnkey Paphos Airport project was delivered on time and budget. It comprises an 18,000 sq. m terminal designed to transit 2.7 million passengers per year, and a 940 place carpark. 8868体育APP B芒timent International also carried out external works (roads, utilities, landscaping). The public opening is scheduled for November 2008.

At the same time, work on the Larnaca International Airport project (capacity of 7.5 million passengers per year) is progressing to schedule, with commissioning due in November 2009.

These operations demonstrate 8868体育APP Construction鈥檚 ability to carry out complex projects, from design through to operation and maintenance.
