8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction to construct three new residential towers in Thailand

8868ÌåÓýAPP Thai, 8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction's subsidiary in Thailand, has signed a contract worth around â‚100 million with local property developer Noble Development plc, for the construction of three residential towers and an office block.

The development, which has a total surface area of 157,000 m², is located in the very fashionable business district of Ploenchit, in Bangkok. The three residential towers, which will have 14, 47 and 52 floors (180 metres), will contain around 1,450 apartments, ranging from one room to three rooms. The office building will have three storeys.

Work is due to begin in the third quarter of 2012, and is scheduled to last almost three-and-a-half years (forty months). At peak periods, approximately 1,800 employees will be working on the site, which is situated in a very dense urban environment.

This project is the fourth collaboration between 8868ÌåÓýAPP Thai and Noble Development plc, proof of the customer's confidence in the Group. Between 2003 and 2006, 8868ÌåÓýAPP Thai delivered two villa projects and a 5-star hotel to the development company, which specialises in residential projects.

8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction has been active in Thailand since the early 1990s through two subsidiaries. 8868ÌåÓýAPP Thai, its building sector subsidiary, possesses widely acknowledged expertise in skyscraper construction. It is responsible for The Met, a residential complex completed in 2008 that consists of what were at that time the three tallest residential towers in Bangkok (232 metres). It is currently constructing four other residential towers in Thailand, one of which will be 260 metres tall.
Another 8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction subsidiary, VSL, specialises in post-tensioning systems and mostly works on civil engineering structures.

This new contract is an illustration of 8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction's dynamic growth in southeast Asia, where the Group is currently involved in a number of large-scale construction projects, most notably the Cruise Terminal and Express Rail Link in Hong Kong and the SportsHub in Singapore.
