In Summer 2014, 8868��APP Travaux Publics handed over a major road tunnel in Miami, Florida. Constructed under a public-private partnership contract, it links Watson Island to the Port of Miami, which was formerly served by only a single highway. The new road is good for the economic development of the port zone and decongests downtown areas by removing the freight traffic that transited through the city. The two-tube tunnel required special techniques for boring through highly porous substrates of dead coral.
